Tempest in a nail-polish bottle?
5 Jan
My daughter, who is almost 3, is obsessed with all things pink. I recently bought her some pink sparkly nail polish and painted her toenails. Not surprisingly, my 4.5 year-old son demanded the same treatment.
I found myself steering him towards a “more masculine” color - dark blue, and painted his digits. In the past week, I’ve lost count of the number of adults who have informed my son that “Nail polish is not for boys!” in tones of shock and outrage!
I mean, come on, people, we’re talking about a few square centimeters of toenail surface here and everyone is acting as if my kid is Adam Lambert?
Am I alone in my belief that ALL kids are naturally attracted to glitter and bright colors?
