After having kids I realized there was a lack of English-language children’s books about Vietnam. I didn’t want books about the war, but books that celebrate modern-day Vietnam—and the country’s fascinating heritage. As an author and illustrator based in Vietnam for 20 years, I decided to write and draw my own books.
