Happiness in a pot

One of my favorite things about living in Vietnam is that fresh flowers are plentiful and cheap. On the road between District 2 and downtown, vendors sell potted orchids from the backs of motorbikes. They’re usually parked across from the old monastery near the start of Le Thanh Ton Street. My husband recently came home with this wonderful pot of pale blush-pink orchids, a steal at just VND60,000 ($3) per stem. That adds up to months of joy for under $15! I love fresh flowers and a bargain.
