Half-assed and proud of it
On a recent visit to Hanoi I snapped a photo of a shop owned by my favorite Vietnamese State-owned enterprise: HAFASCO. In Vietnam, a lot of State-owned companies have names that describe their line of work, such as SEAPRODIMEXCO and VINAMILK.
HAFASCO doesn’t allude to what they produce (ugly clothing and textiles) but rather how they go about it. Go on—say it out loud without smiling.
